Happy Monday! Thank you for joining us today where we Share our Lives with you. My co-hosts are: Adrienne, Dara, Jen, and Joanne. We are here on the second Monday of each month. If you have a blog and posted on this topic, please link up with us below.
Today we are sharing our creative outlets and what we do with our free time.
Blogging - Many of my blog posts are just me sharing what we have been up to, but I also like to write about current events or random topics, and that is my main outlet for being creative, and one of the reasons why I started this.
Singing in the Church Choir - What a privilege to sing with this talented group of singers and contributing to the worship service in this way. We are just a small chamber sized choir, but our dedicated director and section leads help us produce some strong performances.
Cooking - Coming up with meal plans and then executing them does require a degree of creativity.
Playing Piano - I don't do this as much as I'd like, but I do have the ability to sit down and play a piece now and then. I mostly play hymns and classical pieces, but I also have some pop songs, like My Heart Will Go On from Titanic.
Crossword Puzzle/Connections - I do the Globe and Mail crossword and the New York Times Connections game almost everyday. It takes me about 20 minutes so I may do it as a break from work, on the subway on the way home, or sitting around the house in the evening. It's a fun way for me to use my brain in a different way.
Puzzles - We often have a puzzle on the go in our house and it's a good activity to chip away at in my spare time.
Reading - I mostly just read on the subway to and from work but if I'm really engaged in the book, I will read it at home too.
I too love reading a good book and blogging in my free time.
ReplyDeleteYou have lots of great creative outlets. I enjoy cooking and baking too (I mean I don't ALWAYS enjoy it but on those nights I do it really does feel like a great creative outlet).
ReplyDeleteBlogging is definitely my main creative outlet. I also like puzzles and definitely reading!!!
ReplyDeleteOn Sunday, I went to listen to a choir performance, and it was so uplifting! Singing is definitely a creative outlet I would love to explore, even though my voice isn't really choir material. They say you live longer if you sing, too!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to sing in the church choir and I would love to learn to play the piano.
ReplyDeleteBlogging is a great outlet for me too.
ReplyDeleteSo neat that you are so musically talented! I love doing my daily word search …& forgot to include that in my post.
