Weekend Recap

We had a very nice weekend.  Lots of fun activities and beautiful weather.

We went up to the local Ukrainian Festival on Friday night.  We picked up some pierogis and sausage to share, and the boys got these tornado potatoes.

They opted to spend money on this "game" which is basically just pay money to hook the prize you want.

Q got a sword.

And E picked this ridiculous hammer.

The kids always like to try the rock climbing.

The boys got an ice cream and I got the little doughnuts. Then we stopped to watch a bit of the music before going home.

On Saturday morning Dave golfed and the boys and I hung around at home.  We made a sign for E's championship baseball game happening later in the afternoon.

I asked E if he had any input for the poster and he said "I don't think Vladdy (a Toronto Blue Jay) tells people what to put on the signs they may for him".  Point taken ;)

We were meeting some friends for lunch when Dave got home from golf.

It was a beautiful day to be outside on the patio.

Then out to the baseball game.

It was a great game but E's team lost in the end, silver medal for the Jumbo Shrimp.

And an ice cream for everyone.

E's team had blue jerseys and at the beginning of the season they had to come up with a name. One of the choices was the Jumbo Shrimp, based on the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, a minor league baseball team with blue as their colour. This was the one the team chose to use so then I went on Jacksonville's website and bought their mascot.  The boys on the team loved it.  This is Scampi wearing the medal

Meanwhile Q was at a birthday party at the movies so I picked him up later after the game.

On Sunday morning I drove Dave to the golf course and we stopped in at Starbucks on the way.

The boys and I went to church.  After we got home they walked up the street with our neighbours.  I met them later on.

Dave then took them for a run to train for the upcoming cross country race.  Q only has to do 1 km and E will do 3 km.

I went with them so I could wait with Q when he was done his shorter run.  It was so nice to be down by the river.

Here they come!

We finished up our evening with some burgers, some prep for Monday morning, and an early bedtime.
