Weekend Recap

Last week I mentioned that I enjoyed Meghan Markle's new show, and then I tried out her recipe for focaccia and a pasta dish.  She served it as a salad but I served it warm.  Both turned out really well and I am inspired to make focaccia again, it really is that easy!

Now, onto the weekend. We kicked off our weekend with Friday pizza night. We played card games while everyone made their pizzas, and then we played that new geography game, Geo Guesser, where you guess the location based on a Google Street View. It was fun! Then we watched Amazing Race.

We had no set plans for the weekend and the forecast was calling for rain/ice storm.  Fortunately Toronto itself only got rain, but other areas outside of the city got the ice with power outages and damaged trees.
I went out to get my nails done, and then picked up some Ukrainian treats.  I worked on my puzzle and enjoyed a slice of poppyseed bread and my warmed up coffee.

Then we had pierogi for lunch.

In the afternoon E went to the movies with his friends. We cleaned the house, I got groceries, and I even got a workout in. Dave went for a run between rain showers.  We thought about going to the Blue Jays game, but decided to stay home and that was the right choice.

Q having some cereal as a snack.

That night we watched the first Hobbit movie because E just finished reading the book for school.  It was a long movie but we made it through, with the help of some popcorn.

On Sunday I took Q to church with me, and E stayed home with Dave, they cleaned the floors, so that was helpful. We had another quiet afternoon - laundry, workout, and Blue Jays on the TV. Q had also gone to a friend's house for a little while to play.

We were deciding between going out to eat or ordering something in, but finally chose going out.  We picked a favourite, The Crooked Cue, for some pub food and sports on the TV.  Everyone was pleased with their meals.

Showers for the boys when we got home, then an episode of Canada's Ultimate Challenge.  Dave and I finished up Severance to round out the weekend.

  3. That sounds like such a lovely weekend. Gosh, I haven't made focaccia bread in ages; I should make some this weekend to go with our spaghetti.
