Happy Monday! Thank you for joining us today where we Share our Lives with you. My co-hosts are: Adrienne, Dara, Jen, and Joanne. We are here on the second Monday of each month. If you have a blog and posted on this topic, please link up with us below.
Today we are talking about where we shop.
Lately the place where we have been spending the most money is at the grocery store, am I right?! (Incidentally Galen Weston Jr. was just named the third richest person in Canada.) Mr. Weston owns the stores where we do most of our grocery shopping - Loblaw’s and No Frills. We are also fortunate enough to live within walking distance of Bloor West Village where we get to support local produce, meat, fish, and bakery vendors. I find the produce store to be the best value, they have really fresh stuff and lots of variety. I try to buy our produce here as much as possible. We also do some shopping at Costco, but it isn't every week.
As for clothes, what I have purchased things recently or what makes up the bulk of my clothes (since I don’t actually buy that much on an ongoing basis) are from: Aritizia, Athleta, Zella (previously procured at Nordstrom in Canada, RIP), Vuori, and speaking of those local choices, Pink Martini for dresses, and a local lingerie shop for PJ Salvage.
My shoes are from New Balance, Cole Haan, Nike, Sorel, and Uggs. My ski clothes and big parka are from North Face and my raincoat is from Helly Hansen. I also like to get base layer stuff from Uniqlo.
I like to go to Sephora to browse around and that’s where I get my make up and skin care products.
I get the kids clothes at The Gap, Old Navy, Zara, and H and M. They don’t require much else in terms of “fashion”.
For home furnishings, we like Crate and Barrel, Article, Ruggable, and Homesense.
And I think that’s about it.
it is horrible so many people struggle especially with the rise of food prices nd then the owners are billionaires.
ReplyDeleteOld Navy is a great place to shop for my boys I find!
ReplyDeleteWe love getting our outdoor gear from The North Face too; their stuff really holds up.
ReplyDeleteThe price of groceries has gone up here too! Everything that used to be say £1 is now £1.25 which doesn't seem like a lot but it all adds up.
