Weekend Recap

Another busy spring weekend for us here in Toronto.  The Leafs played Game 3 on Friday evening so we decided to go out to a local pub for dinner and to watch a bit of the game.  The pub has the Golden Tee game so the boys played that.

I got up early on Saturday morning to go for a run, while Dave got up to golf.  It was a bit of a chilly morning but sunny.  Q and I biked to the ball field by the river for his rep team tryout/practice.   There was a good group of kids there and I got to chat with some of the parents.

As soon as that was over we biked home, did a quick uniform change and biked to High Park for Qs ball hockey game.  It was photo day afterwards.

And Q got a freezie.

We did some relaxing when we got home (Dave had met us at the park).  I dug out my summer clothes and then culled some of the older things that were worn or did not fit. It's hard to get rid of clothes sometimes but I did a good job.

Meanwhile E was golfing with his friends I picked him up when they were done. 

Mother's Day was the next day.  I took the boys to church and Dave had an early tee time, then Q had a t-ball game at 1:00, so it was late afternoon when we finally got around to celebrating Mother's Day.  But they did a good job and got me some nice things.

The Leafs lost both their games this weekend so that was disappointing, Wednesday's game 5 will be a must win. 

Even though we are busy, it really is a great time of year!

Weekend Recap

I started my Friday out with a Negroni and a little snack plate. Q was at a birthday party and Dave and E were golfing. 

I walked to get Q from his party and saw these beautiful lilacs in bloom. Can you smell this photo?

We were going to watch the last Harry Potter movie that night but it was too late by the time everyone got home and we ate dinner. Another time!

On Saturday morning Q had an optional Tball practice so we biked to the field for that. It was a bit cool but nice and warm in the sun. A friend of mine was there so I got to visit with her. 

Then it was time for E’s baseball game so I took him to that and Dave and Q went to ball hockey.  Number 11 on deck.

We were having people over for dinner so after the sports were over we had to tidy up the house and yard. 

We had a great night with our friends from the ski season! 

Kids were playing games (together) in the dark in the basement. 

On Mother’s Day we went to church. And then Q had Tball game. 

I learned a new skill and kept the score for the game. 

When we got home and finally had a few moments I opened my gifts and we enjoyed some Indian takeout for supper. And cake for dessert. 

Crazy Stupid Love is on Netflix now, it's one of my favourite movies so we watched that on Sunday night after the kids went to bed.

 

Weekend Recap

We celebrated the last day of skating lessons with dinner at Queen Margherita Pizza.  

 

Then we watched the rest of the sad hockey game where the Leafs lost :(

On Saturday morning, we slept in, which was so nice, and then it was off to High Park for Q's ball hockey game.  It was a beautiful morning.

His loose tooth came out while he was playing so he looked like a real hockey player.

On our way home, Dave dropped me off to do a little shopping, and I found two dresses and a pair of earrings (Happy Mother's day to me).  Then I cleaned up the backyard and hosed down our chairs.  I invited a couple of ladies over for a late afternoon cocktail.

E was at the movies, but Q hung out with us too.  When E got home, he and Dave went for a quick 7 holes of golf before the sun set.

The next day was Mother's Day and I received some nice flowers and cards, and a croissant for breakfast.

And the boys and I went to church (one of my new dresses!)

And then we went right to E's baseball game.

E has a few friends on his team which is great!

A few more gifts when we got home.  

We had plans for the buffet dinner at the golf club.  E was actually golfing in the afternoon and only had two holes left when we arrived for our meal, so he just met us inside when he was done.

Everything was delicious but the highlight for me was the prime rib!

We watched Air when we got home, but I was sort of falling asleep.  I liked the people in the movie but thought it could have been better.

 People are always saying that our kids either look like me or Dave and it varies depending on how old they are, but really, I haven't really seen any similarities.  So I thought I would do some comparisons and see what you thought.  I did pictures of us all as babies, toddlers, and school age.
