Weekend Recap

We are fully back into skiing.  Our Friday evenings consist of getting ready for skiing.  Skis and poles in the car, bags packed and ready to go out in the morning, and food prepared.  After we got all of that ready, we got the kids into bed, and then Dave and I watched A Real Pain, the new Jesse Eisenberg movie.

It had snowed all night so we made sure we were on the road early.  The drive took a bit longer than normal, with some snowy roads, ploughs, and accidents, but we still made it to the hill in plenty of time.

Conditions were perfect!  Fresh (Southern Ontario) powder on top of groomed trails.  After we dropped the kids off for their training Dave and I got going.  And because of the slow road conditions, the hill was not busy at all in the morning.

There's Q at the top!

And we got to share a lift with E

We were not spending the night at a hotel, so we headed home after training was over.  We got everything put away, Dave tuned up the boys' skis, and I started to put away the Christmas decorations.  We finally sat down to watch Piece by Piece.  We knew this was a Lego movie but didn't know what it was about.  It's basically a documentary about Pharrell Williams, but in Lego.  It's neat, and I love Lego Snoop Dogg.

Our Sunday drive up to the hill was more straightforward than the day before.  Q's group and the U8s were having a practice race that day.  Dave was helping to set up the course so I skied without him for the morning.
The boys ready for their day.

Q in the starting gate.

Q is on his edges but needs to work on his arms. Otherwise he skied well and it was a great warm up for the first actual race on Friday.

E's team had a potluck after training so we were a bit later leaving the hill than normal.  When we got home - the boys had showers and I finished putting away the Christmas decorations.

Q in my sweater.

We love these winter weekends!
