Friday Favourites

Happy Summer Friday! This is my favourite time of year I think.

On Monday night Q was called up to the minor league baseball.  He got on base and got to play third. He hung in there with the big kids!

Our executive team had some off site sessions this week on Tuesday and Wednesday.  We were at The Drake.  We had a nice little meeting space and were served breakfast and lunch each day. I enjoyed my breakfast in the Sky Yard.

On Tuesday we had dinner booked at The Foxley but stopped by Bellwoods Brewery for a drink first. Ossington Ave. has so many great spots. Foxley had good food but it had my number one restaurant pet peeve - sharing plates.  For 10 people, I don’t think it worked out that well.  However they did have a Sancerre on their wine list so I did enjoy that!

Spotted this on the street.  It was fitting because we talked about things that we value, and authenticity is at the top of my list.

Q had an extra tball practice on Wednesday night at Earlscourt Park.  E and I listened to a podcast while we were there.  I enjoyed being in the park with so many things going on - soccer games and practices, splash pad, and people walking through.

I let the kids spend their money to buy some Lego at Walmart on Thursday.  We do not need any more Lego but they have money to spend and it gave them something to do that they enjoyed.

However, I was not exactly pleased with the mess left behind when I got back from golf on Thursday.

I will be away next week and not posting anything, but you can always check in with me on instagram @smacto

Linking up with Andrea and Erika.

  1. I remember those Lego days! I also remember stepping or kneeling on those tiny pieces more than once—it made me see more than just stars!

  2. I find sharing plates really only works well with 2-4 people max! I hate to admit it but one day you really are going to miss those Lego messes. We have zero Lego pieces in our house now and while I will never miss stepping on them I do miss seeing what they would create and build.

  3. How exciting for Q to be playing with the big kids!
That sign on the street did make me smile and it looks like fun was had with the Lego!

  4. Congrats to Q for getting called up to play with the bigger kids! What a fun experience. I can appreciate when my kids have earned money to spend on what they want...and they used to buy things like Legos and Barbies...haha
now, I guess it's other things, but with less little parts.
