Weekend Recap

 

On Friday night E and I were call up coaches for Q's t-ball game.  Q was away at camp so Coach Dave had made plans to golf.  Then it turned out that most of the other coaches were away too, so I volunteered E and I to help out.  We had a good evening!

E leading a fruit by the foot contest on who could eat it the fastest without using their hands.  Not sure some of the parents approved of this choking hazard, but the kids loved it!

On Sunday morning we went to pick up Q from camp.  His buddy L was in his cabin this year.  They had lots of fun.

We walked around the camp so Q could show me a few things.  

Including the high ropes course. 

Then we headed out.  Since it is a 2.5 hour drive I didn't want to hop right back in the car to go home so we made a few stops. First we went to Minett to check out Abbey's Bakehouse and bought some very delicious butter tarts.

Then we drove to Bala and had lunch at Jack and Stella.  We got some seats in the shade and waited for our sandwiches. 

It was so lovely there.

We enjoyed some live music. 

We had a pretty easy drive home, Saturday afternoon isn't as bad as Sunday evening.  When we got home we had a bit of a rest and then went to the F1 movie.  It was excellent!

On Sunday morning I got up early so I could go to the grocery store and then I biked with Dave and Q to Q's t-ball practice.  The dark clouds were on the horizon and practice only lasted 45 minutes before the thunderstorm began.

Since we biked, we waited it out for about 20 minutes before it sort of let up and then we biked home.

Q was home and nice and cozy after the practice. 

We did some tidying up and then we all went to Q's t-ball game for 3:00.  The thunderstorm was long over but the humidity and high temperatures were still with us. It was hot! But it was still a great day to be outside.  I love weather like this.  

We had Dave's cousin and her husband over for dinner.  We had steak and some salads.  And ice cream for dessert.  Q planned a couple of games for us to play.  This one was basically beer pong. It was thoughtful of him to prepare some entertainment for our guests. 

Needless to say we were tired after that full day and I actually fell asleep in Q's bed with him.  That hasn't happened for awhile but when I woke up after midnight I got back to my own bed!
