Weekend Recap

On Friday last week, the countertop for our new outdoor kitchen area was installed. It looks great! Dave (and E) did a great job of building this area.

It was installed just in time for us to leave for Ancaster for Q’s baseball tournament.  We had a bit of traffic leaving the city on a Friday afternoon but it was fine, we checked into the hotel and then walked over to Turtle Jack’s for dinner with a few of the other baseball families.

Saturday morning came early with our first game at 8:00.
Checking out these little cuties in the dugout (Q is number 5).

First win of the day!

Followed by the post-game team huddle.

We had some time to go back to the hotel to rest for a bit and then it was back for game 2.

E in the tree.

Having a quick pizza break before our third game of the day.

Ready for game 3.

And Q got to pitch. He got 3 strikeouts!

For those strikeouts and getting on base, he got player of the game. We won all three games that day.

A swim for the kids and some patio drinks for the parents.

The next morning we played in the semi-final at 9:00 and easily won to get to the finals.

Our esteemed coaching staff.

The final game was against our rival, Ancaster, on their home field, and we won!! Our team played really well and we were proud of them.

Q going up for his medal.

What a great Father’s Day!

The Ancaster field is known for their ice cream so we definitely needed a victory cone. Q talked us into a double scoop, and he ate it all.

We stopped at the grocery store for some steaks and a salad to make when we got home and Dave opened a few gifts for Father’s Day.

I should also say that E is a big help at these tournaments. He helps with the team warm up running the tball batting station, he goes swimming with the kids, he helps me carry things all over the field, and he keeps the little siblings entertained. What a great big brother!
