Friday Favourites

It was a short week, which is always nice, and a bit ordinary.

Among the “ordinary”, here are a few things that brought some joy this week.

That leftover Thanksgiving turkey sandwich. Isn’t it just the best?  I put a schmeer of cranberry sauce on one of the slices of bread and it really elevated it, I thought.

A mid-morning chocolate chip cookie.  Q and I made cookies on the Weekend and we enjoyed them this week.

Seeing my breath in the morning.  Our cooler temperatures are here and we had a frost warning on Thursday morning.  Interestingly we live in a little valley and we sometimes don’t have any frost when the people up the hill do.

Our Halloween decorations are out and I thought this ghost needed a little coffee.

The cooler temperatures are bringing the colours, this is the schoolyard.

Had to drag Q home from school, he was having fun playing outside.

We finished The Tragically Hip documentary this week and then coincidentally it was the anniversary of Gord Downie’s death yesterday. I didn’t ever really know the band that well, I just enjoyed the music, but this really made me appreciate the other members of the band, it really was a whole band, not just Gord.  The doc was really well done - try watching the last episode or the segment about Fiddler’s Green without crying.

  1. Your turkey day leftovers sound delicious! I am starting to get excited about Thanksgiving next month and started buying a few of the food items already.

  2. I had an ordinary week, too! I still can't believe how fast the time is flying, and Halloween is just around the corner! Your little ghost is so cute, and I bet he loved the coffee. The colours of the trees in the schoolyard look spectacular. We don't get that visual feast over here, everything just looks grey to me when it's Autumn. Have a wonderful weekend!
