We had a full weekend celebrating Q's 8th Birthday. Starting on Thursday night when Dave took the boys golfing and they enjoyed a nice meal on the patio.
Q wanted to go to a Blue Jays game for his birthday so we went on Friday night. It was the last weekend of the season.
Footlong hot dog going down!
They had some games, Q tried out his pitching arm.
And so did E, who has actually pitched in a game.
We had driven to the game, so on our way home we got to see the Vince Carter jersey hanging up at Princes' Gate at Exhibition Place.
On Saturday it was time for the Moms vs. Kids T-ball game with Q's rep team. The moms were ready to go!
We played better than I think we were expecting and the game was quite close. The "official" final score had the kids up by 1 run. ;)
I ran out of time to make a special birthday meal that night so we ordered McDonalds for the kids and Dave and I got noodles. Q was just as happy with this as a special meal
I made his birthday cake and decorated it. He wanted a sprinkle cake and I think I did alright.
Sunday was Q's actual birthday so we started the day with waffles.
And then he opened his gifts.
He was most excited about the Messi kit I found on Amazon. Messi is very popular with the kiddos.
After church it was off to his party at The Bubble.
This is a huge inflatapark with arcade. It was hard to get photos, they were moving too quickly, but you get the idea.
I did the obstacle course and was slightly humbled.
Dave did it too.
The kids all had cards to the arcade but of course they ran through the credits pretty quickly, so then Dave bought another card and went around to swipe for more games. That worked out well instead of reloading all of the kids' individual cards. And then everyone had some credits to exchanges for trinkets and candy.
Hungry Hungry Hippo
When we got home Q opened the gifts from his friends and then we had a simple dinner. It was a successful, busy (tiring!) weekend for all. We loved celebrating out Q.
Happy belated birthday to Q! Sounds like you all had so much fun celebrating him. The sprinkle cake looks fantastic and I bet he was so happy with it!
