After everyone got home from school and work on Friday Dave put on the movie Tin Cup. I had actually never seen it despite it being a classic sports movie. After we ate dinner Q and I walked up to the gas station to get an ice cream and candy as a treat. Then we watched the Blue Jays game.
On Saturday we headed to High Park to see the t-ball championship games. We have friends on both teams so we're really just cheering for a good game and it was!! Everyone was playing well with the Angels taking the first game in the best of 3 series.
We biked home, picking up a few things at the produce store on the way. E was headed to a birthday party for the afternoon and I went to the mall. I wasn't very successful in finding a party dress but it was necessary to go so I could eliminate some options. When I got back I met Dave and Q back at the field for Game 2 of t-ball. Angels won that game too and won the whole thing. Good for them, they played so well!
Q and E took the opportunity to practice some pitching on the big field as Q looks ahead to next year.
We put together a little snack and played some crib before dinner. Unfortunately I picked up the wrong cheese at Costco, instead of the burrata I got regular fresh mozzarella. Still good, but not what I wanted. After dinner we watched another classic sports movie - The Rookie with Dennis Quaid.
On Sunday morning Q and I rounded our the classic sports movie weekend with The Sandlot and we went to church. I had big plans to clean the house in the afternoon but instead we watched the F1 race and I had a nap (shrug). Then we went to the golf club for family golf. It was a lovely evening.
We had probably one of our last nights on the patio for the season.
We got the kids into bed early, and Dave and I watched an episode of The Pitt.
What a fun sporty weekend! I haven’t seen any of the sports movies you mentioned, but even though I’m the least sporty person in the universe, I do love a good sports movie, especially the ones based on true stories. They always make me cry!
