Happy 4th Birthday to our little guy!

Today is E's 4th birthday.  He is our happy, strong, active, imaginative, brave boy.  He seems to be growing so fast although I am constantly reminded that he is still our little boy.  He loves doing things for himself but also gets upset if things aren't exactly right, typical of a toddler/preschooler.

He likes to hold hands and snuggle on the couch.  He likes to read books and do crafts at his table.  He has a great memory about what we say and do, although his answer to "What did you do at school today?" is usually "I don't know".  He loves trying new foods (and whenever he is unsure we remind him of Green Eggs and Ham, and then he will try it).  He likes movies and watching his shows on the iPad.  He likes to help out doing anything we are doing - chores, cooking, home improvement projects, gardening, and taking out the garbage.  He can be shy when he first meets other people, but is fairly quick to open up and will follow along with what the other kids are doing, or lead the way for some shyer kids.

He likes to be silly and has a tendency toward physical comedy (although usually poorly timed because he flops or trips onto the floor while we are trying to get him to put on his shoes).  He always seems to be dirty and has plenty of bruises or scratches.  He loves going on adventures and is keen to learn about new things.

I found one of those birthday questionnaires that you can have your kids answer each year.  I think he is old enough for it this year, so here are his answers (I've made some comments in italics):

Blue Jay
Now we were watching a Jays game while I was asking him these questions so that may have swayed his answer, but a good goal nonetheless.

Anything else to share
My favourite car is the Jetta.

This was fun, and will be neat to see how his answers change over the years.

  1. You have quite the precious little boy! When you mention his comedic acting while getting his shoes on reminds me of Papa when he would drop his shoulders when you would help him put on his coat! Must be the Irish in him! Full of fun! Happy Birthday to you, E! Now you are 4.
