Happy Monday! Today on this month's edition of "Not Just a Mom" link up, we are talking about family food traditions. If you have a blog, link up with us below.
When I started writing this, I didn't think we had too many traditions outside of our Christmas Food Traditions that I wrote about previously, but then I realized there are a number of things that we eat for special occasions so we seem to have more traditions than I thought.
Birthdays
Dave's Birthday - Dairy Queen Ice Cream Cake
My Birthday - White Cake from Bake Sale
Kid's Birthdays - Waffles for Breakfast
[to be clear, the kids get birthday cakes, just not always the same kind each year!]
Holidays (besides Christmas)
Easter - Ribs, Coleslaw, and Potato Salad
Halloween - Baked Chicken Tacos
Lunar New Year - Homemade Chinese Food
Special Days
First Day of School - Crunchy Beef and Mac
Super Bowl - Chicken Wings and Nachoes
Road Trip North - Webers
Friday Nights (usually twice a month) - Pizza Night
I think it's fun to have certain food traditions around each holiday.
