Weekend Recap

E had his last day of camp at High Park on Friday so we dropped him off at 9:00 and then waited around until 12:00 to pick him up (with a nap, some reading, and a workout to fill in the time).

Q took off up the hill to join a summer camp group.

E's art work.  The wooden snake was built by John Howard, the original owner of Colborne Lodge in High Park.   The kids in the camp built their own version of the snack with a big stick, a Kleenex box for the head, and other things they found.   You can kind of see it on the left side of the photo.

After lunch and nap, we went to the library to pick up a few books.

I went out to meet some girls from my workout class on Friday evening at the Drake Commissary. I walked along the rail path from Dundas West Station.  The sky was pretty.

We had some eats and drinks.  It is a fun place.

The next morning Dave went to the driving range and mini putt course with E and my dad, who was visiting from BC.  I stayed home while Q napped, and I made a cake and read my book.

After they got back and we had lunch, E heard his friend (our neighbour) playing in their yard so he went over there to see what was going on.  They were having a party but they didn't mind that E came over to play.   Meanwhile we took a stump out of the ground in our yard to prepare for the landscaping we are getting done next week.  Dave did most of the work but we helped.

Light Sabres

Some time in the jolly jumper.  I don't think we have much time left in this.

Then we celebrated my Dad's birthday with steak, mushrooms, yellow beans, potatoes, and of course birthday cake.

We watched some tennis but had an early night.

On Sunday Dave went for a super long run, E and I hung out watching TV, doing laundry, and planning our menu.  Q napped for awhile which was good for him since he has a bit of a cold.  Then E went to a birthday party at an indoor playground.

After Q got up from his nap we drove to Mississauga for my office BBQ.  It was a very pleasant afternoon/evening with lots of good food and company.

PiƱata for the kids before we left.   There was a lot of "Stand back" instructions to the kids, and no one got smacked in the head, thank goodness.

A busy week ahead so we didn't stay up too late on Sunday night.
