Friday Favourites

Linking up with AndreaErika and Narci for Friday Favourites.

First of all, Happy Easter to all!  Easter is my favourite holiday, even more than Christmas.  He is Risen! At church last week, the lesson was about the last supper and Jesus heading into Jerusalem and dying on the cross.  E was able to recount most of the story to us with pretty good detail.  When he was done, I said, "And tune in next week when Mary visits the tomb!".  It is so exciting, sometimes I am almost moved to tears when I think of this story.

The weather was so nice on Monday and Tuesday that we walked to school.  It was less warm on Wednesday but we still walked, and then Dave's parents walked E to school on Thursday.  It is a nice way to start the morning, but mostly because we aren't worrying about snow pants and boots and things like that.  It's so easy to throw on a sweatshirt and sneakers and go!

Q had his first swing at the playground and loved it.  After I took this, I pulled his hood down so he could feel the wind in his hair ;)

We dyed some eggs on Wednesday.  Although the colours turned out nicely, the designs we coloured on with crayons did not.  Last year was so much better so I wonder what we did differently.  I think I should have let the eggs come to room temperature, and also made sure we used the good quality crayons.

E started his lunchtime Mad Science program this week and brought home a pet worm. We will feed him a couple of times with kitchen scraps and then release him into the wild.

Dave's mom has a tradition of making this Easter cake so she brought up the supplies with her and created this one with E.  As if the outside isn't exciting enough, the inside is a yummy carrot cake!

That's it for this week! Enjoy your long weekend.
