Resolutions

Last year I borrowed this format for setting some goals for 2022, and I wanted to do the same for 2023. to keep myself accountable, I will check in on my monthly What's Up Wednesday post to see how I'm doing. I've also looked at how I did with my 2022 resolutions at the bottom of this post.

Health
Run once a week
Do a yoga class once a week

Work
Put my phone away during work hours

Self
Go to bed before 10:00 at least once a week

Community
Do a food drive with neighbours to stock a community fridge

Travel
Quebec for March Break
Visit a new country
Disney World and Universal

Family
Stop nagging about the little things
Play more games

Friends
Send a message to a friend when I reminded of them

Home
Clear out the clutter

And now, for how I did with my 2022 resolutions:

Health
Remember that everyday is a new day to make healthy choices.  I think I did a pretty good job of that one, and never got off track for too long.
Try 5 new Peloton classes. Check, new instructors and new disciplines.

Work
ESG Strategy. It's mostly done but I did not get it completed before year end.
Lead by example.  Yes, I think I did okay with that one.

Self
Take 20 minutes of "free time" each day.  This was more important during lockdowns when there were no breaks between work and parenting.

Helping Others
Donate to Community Fridges.  I did not get around to that this year.
Keep change to give to people on the street.  I have done this, but don't always remember to replenish it right away.

Travel
Leave the country. Done
Jamaica. Done
Hawaii. Our trip was cancelled so no go.
Quebec. Done
Nova Scotia. Done

Family
Spend one on one time. Yes, I think I did a good job of that.
Family Game Night.  This sort of fell away after lockdowns ended.

Friends
Get together with friends once a month.  I didn't officially track this but I definitely had some good friend time, including a trip to Montreal.
Send card. I did not do this.

Home
Get rid of toys and clothes.  I weeded out the toys but still have few to donate.  I did sort through my clothes and made good progress, but it is a never ending battle.
Family Cleaning Night. This also fell away after lockdowns ended.

Did you make any resolutions this year?

  1. I resolved to get on our rowing machine and I just finished my first work out. Now to see if (when) a second one happens!

  2. Wow! I love this format. I need to not nag about the little things...it's a weakness of mine for sure. I still need my morning "me" time for sure. I hope you have a great 2023!
