11. If life stopped today, what would you regret not doing?
I really can't think of anything. Maybe not travelling enough, but I've still been pretty fortunate, so I can't count this as a "regret". Plus travel was put on hold for a little while during the pandemic, so that delayed a few things, we'll get back into the travel routine soon enough.
12. Who would you like to connect with? Why?
I want to connect with more women lawyers in Toronto. I've been in my in-house job for four years now and I miss the connections I used to have when I was in a firm. Of course the pandemic made it difficult to actually meet people, but I feel like now is the time to start reaching out to people. I have met a few different people lately that I think would be good people to know. It's good for bouncing ideas off people, finding out what is going on in the industry, look for new opportunities, and maybe even make new friends (!). I'm always up for a lunch, coffee, and good conversation.
13. What qualities do you admire in others?
People that are genuine and confident about who they are, are willing to listen and change, and have a sense of humour and don't take themselves too seriously. I also appreciate those who get stuff done instead of just talking about it (that is something I'm not great at, but Dave is).
14. What practical skills do you wish you had?
Cleaning, I mean I know how to do it, I just don't possess the skill of caring enough to spend time on it. I also wish I had an eye for design and decorating, some people are so good at that but it just isn't in my skillset. And finally, Excel. I don't use Excel a lot, but when I do, I'm not making pivot tables or anything.
15. Imagine you're in your 90s. What memories do you want to have? What stories would you like to tell?
Seeing different parts of the world while staying healthy and strong. Having those special moments with my family that make your heart warm. Seeing my children grow up to be successful and surrounded by love, whatever that may look like for them.
I went back to read ALL the posts in this series-- what a fun batch of questions to tackle! I always wish we could and did travel more but I also realize that we travel more than most and I have to be content with that. There are so many places I want to see and go that the chances of getting to see them ALL are just so incredibly slim. Short of becoming a multimillionaire and travelling constantly that's not going to happen.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your last sentence -- "whatever that may look like for them." I am still planning to answer these questions in my own blog posts (eventually) so I love reading your answers.
