25 Questions (6-10)

It's time for the next instalment of the prompt questions, see questions 1-5 here.

6. Think of a person you truly admire. What qualities do you like about that person?

Qualities I generally admire about people - calmness, no complaining, being assured in who they are, and reliable.  I try to emulate these qualities as well, although I'm sure I could do with a bit less complaining.

7. How do you like to relax?

Pretty basic - sitting on the couch with a coffee or glass of wine (depending on the time of day) and knowing that I don't need to do anything else at that moment.

8. When was the last time you did something you were afraid of?

I had to think about this and realized I probably don't challenge myself enough because I think it was ziplining in January 2020 in Hawaii. I do not like heights and I had a hard time stepping off the platform, it was really fun though, and I would do it again.

9. What are you most proud of?

My children are kind and thoughtful people.  Sure they can be annoying, rude, inconsiderate, lazy, etc. at times, but ultimately they are good kids and that will go a long way in this world.  We have high expectations for them, can be a bit strict, and I feel like I'm constantly yelling at them for one thing or another, but I guess it's paying off.

10. What are you most afraid of?

One of getting cancer.  We try to stay fairly healthy but I know you can't eliminate all risks and there is always family history to worry about too, or just random occurrences that you can't do anything about.  I did a good job last year of doing a bunch of baseline tests as I turned 40 - mammogram, colonoscopy, and skin check - but I still worry about it.

  1. I'm afraid of heights too! I wasn't necessarily when I was younger...but definitely as an adult, I'm not a fan. My kids drive me crazy sometimes, but I do feel like the hard work is paying off. haha There is nothing better than having everything finished up and sitting on the couch to relax. Nothing better...which I guess is why I try to start my day that way with a cup of coffee. haha

  2. We have so many things in common! My number one fear is getting cancer. I do the usual tests that I have to do but it takes all my strength to make those appointments. Ugh! I am always terrified when I have to go back for the results. I was quite strict with both my kids and they often complained how they weren’t allowed to do this or that and their friends were. Apparently we were labelled the strict parents in their circle of friends. But it does pay off. We have a great relationship with them and so far so good. I also love to relax with a cup of tea or coffee and wine o’clock is always welcome 🤗

  3. I am scared of getting cancer too. Or cancer striking someone I'm really close to. Also, I would be proud of raising good kids too. That is a HUGE accomplishment!
