2023 - Year in Review

Looking back at 2023.

We rang in the New Year with friends.

E started his ski racing career, and we started skiing at a new hill (Mount St. Louis-Moonstone)

We skied a lot.

We celebrated Valentine's Day.

We went to Quebec for March Break - skied at Bromont and Sutton...

... and Jay Peak (in Vermont).

We celebrated Dave's birthday.

We celebrated Easter.

And went to a Blue Jays game, roof open in April!!

I went to Mexico for work.

All of the sports got underway.

We went to California (for Dave's work trip).

We celebrated my birthday.

We started our house renovations and moved into the basement.

We went camping at Killbear Provincial Park.

And the boys went to overnight camp.

I golfed most weeks.

We camped at Bruce Peninsula National Park.

Dave and I golfed together.

We did some rock climbing,

The boys spent time with Dave's parents.

We went for a bike ride at the Pinery Provincial Park.

We visited the zoo.

The boys went back to school (Grade 7 and 2).

I went to Nova Scotia for a weekend.

Dave's team won the Men's Night Trophy.

We celebrated Q's 7th birthday.

We went to Disney (all four parks and a water park)...

...and Universal.

We celebrated E's 12th birthday.

I went to Florida (South Beach and the Keys)

We went to a Marlies hockey game.

We moved back into (the upstairs of) our house!

We celebrated Christmas.

This was a different year for us - I started out with a surgery with a three week recovery time, I fell twice skiing (not hurting myself too badly but a couple of minor injuries had me moving differently), Dave changed jobs, we lived in our basement for 5.5 months, lived through a major house renovation, and I had a very busy year at work with lots of challenges.  However, as you can see above, we got to do many amazing things in the midst of this - and we are grateful for all of it!

  1. Yay for the NEW House spaces and getting to move back upstairs. This was such a fun yearly wrap up to read.

  2. Y'all had a great year..with so much activity and travel, but I realize it had it's challenges too. Love the family pic with Santa. So sweet.

  3. Hooray for moving back to the upstairs! I enjoyed looking back at your year and didn't it go by so fast? Good to hear that despite the challenges you also enjoyed some wonderful times with your lovely family. I love the pic of E and Q jumping for joy!

  4. Despite your health challenges, you got to do a lot of travel. I didn't realize you lived in your basement for six months?!?!? It might be nice to be upstairs again!
