There was no school on Friday but Q went to the YMCA for most of the day. E and Dave did a few errands, and I took an early end of the day myself! We went to pick out our Christmas tree. We usually go to Sheridan Nurseries but their store was still closed after suffering flood damage back in July. Instead they set up in the parking lot at the mall so we were able to go there. It was so cold though!! We quickly picked out a tree and got back in the car to go home.
So many pretty baskets.
We took several attempts at deciding where to put the tree (since our new couch is longer than our old one so that changes the dimensions a bit). We finally moved the chairs and put it against the wall.
Dave and Q went to Q’s baseball and I put together a charcuterie board and prepared some appetizers for dinner and we settled in to watch Spirited when they got back.
I did a fun Peloton ride on Saturday morning - the 45 minute Turkey Burn (for American Thanksgiving) and every song was a banger! Then we set about decorating the tree. I’ll share some photos of our decorations later this week, but I will say that it turned out really well.
We quickly ran up to Bulk Barn to get a few things, and when we got back Q and I made oat cakes. He is a good little helper.
That night Dave and I went to a party. There was a Maritime theme with oysters, mussels, crab dip, and seafood chowder, and some fiddle music!
They always have a photo booth which is fun.
Sunday morning called for church and pageant practice.
Q had a birthday party so E and I went out for lunch at the Crooked Cue.
I was performing at a choir concert that afternoon at a local church which was a wonderful way to kick off the Advent season.
This week is all about party prep!
What a festive weekend! Love the charcuterie board & cookies. - Jen Showmeandsweettea
