Weekend Recap

This weekend we headed to Sarnia, Ontario, to visit Dave's parents.  It was a short visit, but nice to be  down there.  We had beautiful weather and we spent most of our time outside.  On Friday when we arrived, E played in the backyard, and Dave and I went for a run along Lake Huron.  After a yummy supper of prime rib, we made a fire in their backyard fireplace and E got to roast a few marshmallows before he went to bed.  We stayed out there until about 11:00 and enjoyed the lovely evening.  We even saw Venus and Jupiter, they were right next to each other for awhile before slipping below the horizon.

When we woke up in the morning we got ready to head to the beach.  We were one of the first families there so we had a good spot.  It was hot but we all managed to avoid a sunburn.  The water was cool, and although E went in a few times, I didn't go.

After a few hours at the beach, we decided to head into town to get some french fries under the bridge.  They were so good, I could have eaten more.

Then we went to check out Sarnia's microbrewery, The Refined Fool Brewing Co. They opened in 2013 but this was our first opportunity to check them out.  We sat and tried a few of the different brews and played Battleship.  They have a nice little tasting room and a retail store in the back.  We picked up a growler of Antique Peepshow to take home.

After we got home, we were all tired from being out in the sun all day.  We had a nice supper of pecan crusted chicken and salad and then watched Kingman: The Secret Service.  Good movie.

E helping Papa with a project - installing a screen door at the front of the house.

I went for a run on Sunday morning, and then we enjoyed our coffee and breakfast on the deck before heading home.
