This was last Thursday. My alarm went off at 5:45 and I forced my eyes open and got out of bed. I got dressed and headed out for a run. I went down Bloor St. and into High Park and ran around the upper loop, and then back home. This was my second run of the week and I actually felt pretty good.
Hot mess when I got back
I headed out and thankfully wore my sandals in from the car because I ended up having to walk up some of the stairs to my office. The elevator I got in went all the way to the top floor (my floor) not stopping at any of the other selected floors, including my floor. Then it went all the way back down to the basement and the back up again. I was getting a little panicky so when it eventually opened on the 9th floor I got out and took the stairs up to the 16th floor. I didn't want to take my chances.
Work was pretty normal, nothing out of the ordinary. We had our monthly lawyers' meeting at lunch. This was our lunch, it was pretty yummy and a few of us went back for seconds.
I worked on fixing up some corporate records, responding to client emails regarding a limited partnership agreement, and interpretation of condo corporation by-laws. As usual I didn't get as much done as I wanted to.
I also looked up the Pan-Am Games schedule and tried to find out which events we could try to get tickets to.

I listened to the Jay and Dan Podcast on the way home in my car. I used to download them but now I just stream them. I find I can stream two podcasts a week (This American Life, and Jay and Dan) and I have enough data.
When I got home, Dave and E were working in the backyard. The patio stones in our backyard only have sand and dirt between them so Dave is cleaning all of that out so he can fill the gaps with Envirostone. This will harden and we can use the power washer to clean the stones better (I'm picturing Bachelor mansion with the wet pavement), and also it will be cleaner in general because the sand won't get disturbed everytime it rains.
While they worked I made supper, our marinated pork, potatoes and green beans. E helped washed the potatoes and then played in the sink. Then I got his numbers work book and he sat at his "desk" and practiced some of his numbers.
After supper Dave went back to work outside. E and I power washed the cars, then I vacuumed the stairs and E's room, threw in a load of laundry, and then picked up a screaming child and dragged him inside to bed. E is very good at thinking of other reasons why he can't come inside, I fell for one of them but then I got impatient. I don't like yelling, but seriously, sometimes he knows better.
He calmed down pretty quickly once we got upstairs so I did read him some stories. Some of our favourites.
He was tired and I didn't hear another peep out of him when I left. I finished cleaning up the supper dishes, swept the kitchen and then worked on some blogs.
It was a long day, but I'll take a busy summer day over a cold winter day!
That was one busy day! What a sweet face to see first thing in the morning on your return from your run! And a big helper, he is. And looks so studious doing his numbers. No doubt you all had a good sleep that night.💤😴
