This weekend was way too busy, but you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way!! On Friday after work we decided to take advantage of the good weather and hopped on the bikes after we got home and rode to High Park. We went swimming at the pool and then got some french fries for our supper (with carrots and celery sticks, figs and apple sauce we brought from home to even out the fries). The kids were playing baseball so we joined the parents on the bleachers and watched the game.
This guy didn't want to take a picture with me.
He loved watching the game.
While Dave put E to bed, I read in the hammock. Until a raccoon came into the yard and then I sprinted back to the house.
On Saturday morning I got up early and went for a run. I have wanted to try Patisserie 27 on Jane Street for a long time, so I changed my running route so I could run by on my way home and picked up three croissants. They were amazing.

We then hopped on the special HOV lanes and headed out to Oakville for a birthday party. The theme was knights and the kids got to paint a castle, dragons and shields. It was great fun. They also each got a costume - helmet, tunic, and sword. E had a great time.
As if a birthday party wasn't enough, we also went up the Bloor West Village's Summer Kids Festival. We love having these things so close to us so we can easily walk up and enjoy the festivities.

I made E sit in this pocket of shade at the sandbox.
Then my personal highlight of the weekend, Playa Cabana Cantina. This was my second visit here, but Dave and E's first visit. It was totally fine to bring E with us to this place, especially since our reservation was for 5:30. He was also really well behaved and ate all his food. He even asked our server if she could bring us more chips to go with our guac and salsa.
My happy place.
(From the bottom, Dave's tacos) LA Truck, Chorizo, Short Rib. I also had the LA Truck and Short Rib, and we both had the fish taco. They are all so amazing but the Short Rib is my very favourite. E had the kids quesadilla.
These straws kept E entertained while we enjoyed our tacos. He kept making letters out of them.
On Sunday we went to Ikea to buy a rug for our backdoor. Dave wanted to keep working on the back patio, so I put E in the running stroller and we went to the High Park pool again. We had fries and hot dogs when we arrived and E watched the baseball practice (so basically just a repeat of our Friday night). The pool was busy but it was great.
Our favourite supper.
You three sure do "LIFE" well! Being active, enjoying fun, food and family!
