The weather is finally better, and it's a long weekend, my favourite!
Last week I bought some ice cream and cones and we have enjoyed these treats all week. Mint chocolate, my favourite!
I stopped in at Simons at the Square One mall in Mississauga this week and found a lot of cute things for the home. When Target left Canada, I was mostly just disappointed to lose all of their home décor things, but Simons is filling that void. Some really different designs, and great prices. I got some new dish cloths, towels, drying mat (with birds!), and some kid-sized oven mitts for E. I also bought a yellow blanket for the couch to add some fresh colour.
On Wednesday I was lucky to play golf at Glen Abbey in Oakville. We had a great day of golf and sunny weather.
A few weeks ago I pinned recipes for overnight oatmeal, and this week converted one of them for hot oatmeal. I grated a carrot and added it and some cinnamon to my oatmeal before cooking it. Then I added chopped up fresh pineapple, maple syrup and almond milk. Delicious!
Yesterday I posted our pancake recipe. Give it a try this long weekend, you will be reluctant to go back to the boxed pancake mix after trying these!
I came across this verse earlier this week and it has run through my mind a few times. Sometimes we worry about so many things that we don't have any control over, so we should remember that fear is not from God, instead:
Have a happy long weekend, for those that have one!
