The best laid plans...

I had scheduled a garden/yard tour for today's post but our garden is not ready for summer yet so there is nothing to share.  I had plans to work in the yard all weekend - sweep the patio and front steps, clear out old branches and weeds from the garden beds, and rake the dead stuff out.  Our weather this weekend was less than ideal for outside work, it was cold, windy, and we even saw some snow flurries/hail on Sunday.  Our two whirligigs are getting a workout but that's the only activity in our yard so far.  Dave has worked on our front lawn (the one between the sidewalk and the road) and it is filling in with new grass.

Next weekend is the long weekend so I will hope for better weather and get it done.

I will instead you leave you with this article that most people probably saw over the weekend, it was widely shared, but in case you missed it, here it is.  The article is about Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau and the criticism she drew after she suggested she could use another personal assistant.  It is a well written article and makes lots of good points.  I am a supporter of pretty much whatever the Trudeaus do, and I appreciate that others are not, but it really bothers me when they are attacked at a personal level rather than because of their political views.  Usually people just end up looking like hypocrites when they start doing that (the article reminds us that Conservative Brian Mulroney gave his wife, Mila, an office with three staff to deal with her official commitments).

  2. Oh my goodness, I had yard plans that got spoiled by the cold weather, wind and rain as well. I cannot wait for some warm sunny days!
