Friday Favourites

I have a very random assortment of Friday Favourites today.

E came home from school this week and told me about a book his teacher was reading them.  It sounded like a Holocaust book so I looked up Grade 5 Holocaust books and we figured out what it was since he knew what the cover looked like.  It's Number the Stars by Lois Lowry.  The name of the author sounded familiar and I realized she also wrote A Summer to Die, one of my favourite books I read when I was younger.

I worked from home on Monday and it was a beautiful day so I took the opportunity to go for a run at lunch.  Love days like these!

We made salad bowls for supper one night, one of my favourite meals.  Roasted cauliflower, kale, sweet potato, lettuce, chicken, beets, feta, cucumber, and pumpkin seeds.  I made Oh She Glow's lemon tahini dressing

I tried a new spot for lunch when I was downtown, Sud Forno on Temperance.  I just took my lunch to go but it would also be a cozy place to eat in as well.

Q (and E) sported a poppy sticker to school yesterday.

We had pizza night to Thursday and I made a greek style pizza and I thought it deserved a photo.

Have a happy fall weekend!  Rake those leaves :)

Linking up with Andrea and Erika.

  1. We raked just yesterday! But I'll have to do more today since the front yard needs it again too.

  3. Aw, I loved Number the Stars. I think we read it in fourth grade. There’s a line from really stuck with me, but of course I can’t remember it now! Stopping by from Friday Favorites! :)
