Weekend Recap

I started my week off 9600 feet underground.   Here I am with our CFO on an underground tour at one of the mines where we do work.

If you can make out this model, it has the CN at the bottom for scale and then shows the depth of the mine itself.  The horizontal lines are the roads and the vertical lines are the shafts.  It is quite the operation.

I flew home on Friday evening and was glad to be back with my boys.

We started Saturday morning with our own activities.

E played video games.

Q played Legos.

Dave did a workout.

While I put away the fall decorations.

After Q's gymnastics and lunch, we went for a walk by the river with our neighbours. It was such a beautiful day.

I wanted the kids to throw the leaves up in the air for a photo but instead they thew them at me.

This tree was all lit up in the sun but of course the photo doesn't do it justice.

Knowing we had an extra hour, we stayed up watching the last two episodes of the Great British Baking Show with E.

On Sunday morning we got dressed up to take some photos for our Christmas card.

When we got back the kids went over to the neighbours' house to play, while I cleaned out the front closet and listened to our church service and Dave went to Costco to get propane.

The kids played at the park for a little bit.

We finished our day with the F1 race and somehow I managed not to have a nap.  We had steak and baked potatoes for supper.

I love fall weekends because it feels like we are able to get lots of stuff done around the house and the weather is still nice to spend time outside.

  1. You look great in your gear and so cool and calm at that depth! It's amazing to see the CN tower in scale to the mine! Wow!

  2. Why is it so hard to take pictures of the sun shining on fall trees? They're amazing in real life and the pictures don't convey that. Also, that is very deep below ground. Yikes.
