Show and Tell Tuesday

Today's topic is our yard.

Our yard is not that impressive.  It is a work in progress.  I have never been a gardener, and it is unlikely I ever will be, but our yard will come together in the years to come.  We are still figuring out which parts of our yard get sun.  We are also working with what the previous owners left us, which wasn't much.  Another caveat for the photos below is that we have had a pile of rain over the past couple of weeks.  We need some hot weather to really bring things back around.

Dave took this picture of a woodpecker on our fence a couple of weeks ago.

Our back garden.  A good example of plants that are waterlogged and need some sun, not sure if they will ever get enough, there is a lot of shade back here.

This flowering tree was in bloom after we returned from our vacation this week.

This is from a couple of weeks ago after we did our planting and it was sunny.

Our herb/rock garden in the front of the house.  This is working out pretty well so far.  We always like to have fresh herbs in the summer.  We have basil, mint, chives, cilantro, and rosemary.

We have several of these plants in the front garden among the lily of the valley.  We ripped up some of the lily of the valley and will eventually rip out more.  They are okay but we don't want that many.

Back to the backyard with the trucks and Dave's new rock wall. 

This is E's treehouse.  It could use some work, but it is safe and a great addition to playtime.  

I also got a hammock for my birthday last week.  I am excited to relax there with a book this summer.
