St. Patrick's Day

How do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day?  Long gone are the days when we would spend most of the day drinking beer at the bar, but we do add a few special treats into the day.

First of all we wear green clothes.  Since this year's St. Patrick's Day is on a Sunday, I will wear green to work on Friday and then again on Sunday itself.

We will also make some fun St. Patrick's Day treats.  I picked up a box of Lucky Charms to make squares (like Rice Krispie squares) and also these pistachio squares.

We don't have any shamrock decorations but I'll see if I can pick up some green plants before the weekend.

We will start our morning with some Irish coffee, perhaps a Guinness or two, and then dinner out at the pub.  Now it's an English pub, which is not Irish, but close enough for our purposes. I want fish and chips!!

And since we are going out for Sunday supper, I will make Irish stew and soda bread for our supper on Saturday.  I love a good theme meal!
