Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Sharing a few ways we are celebrating this year..
We don't have any decorations but fortunately my mom sent a few cards and I kept the one on the right from last year.
We will wear green.
We will have green and gold sprinkles on our pancakes or waffles at breakfast. I looked for food colouring but it appears we ran out of the green one at Christmas (and there isn't much yellow left to make green with the blue).
The kids will get a green cupcake in their lunch along with some cucumbers and kiwi, and a cheese bagel for the orange of the Irish flag.
I am going to make shepherd's pie and soda bread for supper.
On the weekend we made Lucky Charms squares (but they are gone now). We had enough of the box of Lucky Charms for the boys to each have a bowl, they were amazed that it was an actual cereal given all of the marshmallows in it.
And despite it being a weekday, we will have a couple of Irish beers and maybe even an Irish Coffee to start the day :) And I'll put on some top-tapping music while I work. I'm sad we can't go out to a pub for some live music as we have done in years past, but we will make the most of what we can do here.

Sláinte!!
Top o' the mornin' to you, Sarah! I'm enjoying my Irish coffee as I write! Thanks for the idea, I think I'll make Irish soda bread to go with our corned beef and cabbage meal. Have a Happy St. Patrick's Day! 💚☘️
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your trip to Ireland photos, again. I also would like to go back some day.
ReplyDeleteI love St Patrick's Day! We're having Beef & Guinness Stew tonight and now I'm going to see about baking some soda bread.
