I met a friend for drinks after work on Friday. So nice to be out! Meanwhile Dave took the kids to the driving range and to play mini-putt and we had a late supper.
On Saturday morning we were up early to go to High Park for Q's ball hockey. It was a nice sunny day. He's number 5, taking the faceoff.
When we got home we had an early lunch and then the boys went outside to play. I exchanged the winter things for summer things in the front hall closet, and Dave worked on the playlist for his half marathon. Then they went to the movies with some friends. I went to the grocery store and had a nap while watching the Blue Jays.
On Sunday morning we dropped Dave off at the starting line for the Toronto Half Marathon. This was his first race for a few years and even though he didn't have a long training time, he felt ready.
We stopped in for McDonalds breakfast before going to the finish line. The kids have never had the hot cakes before. They thought they were pretty good.
Then we got down to the finish line in time to see Dave coming around the bend.
Yay! His time was 1:39, which is pretty impressive!
Even though it was just Dave who had run the race, we all had a lazy rest of the day, watching movies and baseball. The weather was kind of dreary so we didn't feel inspired to be outside.
Then we met some friends for supper :) What a great way to end the weekend!
