Let's Look - Perfect Night In

The regular hosts of this link up are off this week but I wanted to post on this today anyway.

This month we are talking about our perfect night in.  We have had a lot of opportunities to perfect our nights in over the past year (or let's be honest, we didn't go out much anyway!).

The best nights start out with a meal that I don't have to make - so that means Dave is making supper or we are ordering out.  We also like to do a board like this one to graze on.

I also like to have some wine, a martini, or some other drink.  Depending on what we've had for dinner, a bowl of chips or popcorn is also welcome.

The choice of what to watch needs to be something to keep my attention - which basically means not an action movie.  If I am tired, when those action scenes start, then I am likely to fall asleep.  Instead sports, a non-action movie, or a TV series will keep me awake.

We have a cozy TV room in the basement with a nice big couch, dimmed lights, a big TV, and a mini-fridge.  It is warm in the winter and cool in the summer and it has been so nice to have this space available over the past year (Dave finished it in late 2019, perfect timing).

If Dave is not home, my slight amendments to this plan are that I will head upstairs a bit earlier and read in bed for a little while.

I'll link up with Shay and Erika next week.

  1. That sounds like a really good night in. And I love snacky suppers! Good timing on finishing the basement -- you've had a great space to enjoy this pandemic.

  3. Oh that is my goal for our basement!! It's always so warm in the winter with the woodstove down there and I can not wait until we finish it off and can use it.

  4. Sounds perfect!! Your couch looks like the perfect place to sit and watch a movie.
