Weekend Recap

We got some new windows installed on Friday. These were the last old windows in the house so it is good to have those done.  They were also supposed to do the side door but it was the wrong size! So we need to wait for another door to be built.  And they need to come back to do the trim.  It was pretty dusty after they left, so the kids watched TV while Dave and I cleaned up.

Out with the old.

In with the new.

We watched some curling after the kids went to bed - this was exactly where I wanted to be.

On Saturday morning, E and I ventured up the street to get a few things.  We stopped in at the library too and had to wait outside so we snapped a few photos.

They have surprise bags to pick up, we got these two and one with paper airplane books. It was fun to open them up and see what we got.  And I guess I've failed as a parent because E didn't realize the library is free and he was concerned we may not like all of the books that we "bought".  I told him luckily we can just take them back if we don't like them.

We cleaned up the skis and put them away. And we took the Thule box off the car.

We took our paper airplanes outside and threw them off the treehouse.

We had meatball subs for supper and then watched the new Disney movie, Raya and the Last Dragon, so good and the kids loved it too.  After they went to bed, Dave and I watched Promising Young Women and it was phenomenal.

I got up early on Sunday morning to try and book some camp sites with our friends.  They were successful but I was not (fortunately I was able to get the site on Monday morning).

Dave went for a run.

I did a bunch of laundry, watched our church service, and finished our taxes. After lunch Dave took the boys to play with the remote control car and I cleaned up the living room and kitchen.  In the afternoon I took the kids up the park to play with their friends and then we came home to warm up, and watched curling.  We made a stir fry and pot stickers for supper.

E was inspired by the curling to set up some rings on our counter and sliding coins down to it.

Biting the 12 foot!

I finished my weekend with the Oprah interview of Meghan and Harry.  Wow! A fascinating two hours and then I had to read all of Twitter before going to bed.

  1. Creative E...curling on the kitchen island! Fun! You were good to have watched the whole interview and twitter posts before bed. I recorded it but so far have only watched half of it. It's interesting.

  2. I'm laughing about the library failure! Hahaha!!! Thank the goodness they've even gotten rid of overdue fines right now because otherwise the library would be costing us about $30 a month! And I'm glad to hear the new Disney movie is good. I've been seeing lots of promotion for it so we want to check it out.
